Today the 4th graders are taking day one of STAAR writing, and my 5th graders will be working to get ready for their reading STAAR test that they take on Tuesday. They will work on the Symbaloo page for STAAR reading practice lessons, Frog games using Hot Dots cards, and Istation. It's time to show off all the hard work we've done all year.
After my technology class last night, I wanted to show my class something new to help us show off our learning. Since I have tablets, i-pods, and computers in my class I wanted to incorporate technology into the lesson. We just started a unit on matter in science, I wanted to see what they know. I showed them how to log into padlet.com and showed them our classroom space for matter. Then I let them show off, using my interactive whiteboard to show that it saved and shared their information in real time. We had a lot of fun with it, and will use it again.
See for yourself! My wonderful students have gotten so good at using technology and I want to encourage them to attend trainings on their own. If you are interested in technology and live nearby, use the links to find a class near you!
